In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati game show by Amitabh Bachchan, a youngster Chander Parkash from the Jammu and Kashmir has emerged as the first crorepati of the 16th season. Chander who is a UPSC aspirant emerged the winner of ₹1 crore after he posed a difficult geographical question. The asked question was “What country’s largest city is a port city with an Arabic name that translates as the ‘house of peace’ and is not on official capital?” In this test, there were four choices:
A) Somalia, B) Oman, C) Tanzania, D) Brunei.
Chander correctly identified Tanzania after using the ‘Double Dip’ lifeline to safely win ₹1 crore. And it was an endearing warmth of seeing Chander do well, Amitabh Bachchan embraces him and the viewer also gets the satisfaction of it’s done well. Besides winning the amount of cash money Chander also won a car making his success story all the much more stellar.
Amitabh Bachchan then presented Chander with the ₹7 crore question: An important fact that seemed to go unnoticed is that the first documented child to be born to English parents in North America in 1587 was Virginia. Finally, with no more lifelines remaining and being unsure of which answer he was giving, Chander decided it was time to walk away from the game. When asked to name his choice he chose Virginia Dare and he was right. Nevertheless, Chander bid adieu to the show as the first crorepati of the season which made him deserving of the praises.
