Rajura’s Rising Star: Tribal Youth Earns Prestigious UK Scholarship

Abhijit Madhukar Tekam, a young guy from Rajura, is getting ready for an amazing adventure! He just secured a huge scholarship worth Rs 52.74 lakh to study in the UK.
Abhijit comes from a simple background. His dad works for the Rajura Panchayat Samiti as a junior employee. Despite facing many obstacles, he’s shown great strength and determination. Soon, he’ll be diving into a Master’s degree in Biodiversity and Conservation at the University of Sheffield. This is a big achievement for him!
Life started in the Mhada township for Abhijit. His learning journey kicked off in Rajura, then he studied in Latur and later went to Fergusson College in Pune. After that, he earned a Master’s in Anthropology at Savitribai Phule Pune University. This helped set him up for his studies abroad.
With his hard work, Abhijit got financial support from the Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP). He received the scholarship in August 2024á…³what an achievement!
He thanks his parents, Madhukar and Jyoti Tekam, for always believing in him. Friends and professors also played a big role in his journey. Now, he dreams of completing a PhD after finishing his Master’s.
